Logos are the graphic representation of the moral elements of an entity. Thus it is very important that this graphic has a very strong personality that reflects the entity. Apart from personality it is good to have a strong origin of it ideas.

The designed logo here depicts the departments' infinite creativity with no start or end but a constant flow of thoughts and ideas. The dynamism in the department is represented by the strong element of the tilted line at the center of the logo. The two parts in the logo depict the creative and logical parts of brain and their blend to represent the work done in the Department of Design.

Inspired by the Celtic patterns from the ancient styles, the logo of DoD describes the Department of Design in its true sense. DoD is one of the oldest departments in the campus and thus to give it a feel of antiquity the search for inspiration began in finding the emotion in rune representations used in gaming. Parallel to this I was playing with the initials ‘D’, ‘O’ and ‘D’. I also tried to abstractly embed the Design Circle, a very crucial, unique and a mark of identity for the department.

Thus after multiple iterations and tweaking the Celtic icon with a bit of infinity symbols and adding the element of design circle with the initials of the department, I came up with this logo.
